Meta’s $65 Billion AI Investment Plan for 2025
Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced plans to invest between $60 billion and $65 billion in 2025 to advance the company's artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives. This substantial increase from the previous year's expenditure of approximately $38 billion underscores Meta's intensified focus on AI development.
The investment will fund the construction of a data center exceeding 2 gigawatts in capacity and the acquisition of over 1.3 million graphics processing units (GPUs) by the end of the year, solidifying Meta's position as a major purchaser of Nvidia's AI chips. Zuckerberg emphasized that 2025 will be a pivotal year for AI, with goals including Meta's AI assistant reaching over 1 billion users and the open-source model, Llama 4, becoming a leading AI platform.
